Backrooms: Monster Merge

Backrooms: Monster Merge turns the creatures of the endless yellow maze into a monster-collecting game. Instead of running away from them, you buy them, merge them, and send them into battle. Your collection starts with basic entities and gradually expands to include familiar monsters such as Bacteria, The Smiler, Pirate Clark, and Many-Armed. There are 60 creatures to discover, so completing the full bestiary will take time.

Merge Monsters and Clear the Board

Place purchased monsters in empty spaces. When you have two identical creatures, combine them to create a stronger version. Keep making matches before the board becomes crowded, since unused or mismatched monsters can block spaces needed for your next upgrade. You can also click the creatures to collect coins. Pay attention to the meter at the top of the screen, as it can increase how quickly you earn money. More coins mean more monsters to buy and more chances to find a matching pair.

Take Your Squad Deeper

Merging is only part of the game. You must also choose your strongest creatures and form a squad for battle. Upgraded monsters have a better chance of surviving later fights, so check your collection and improve weaker units whenever possible. A different Backrooms zone opens after every two levels. Each new area gives you another board to fill while bringing you closer to rarer creatures and the darkest parts of the maze.

Try to keep a few spaces available, merge duplicates as soon as you can, and spend coins on upgrades that will help your battle team. Start building your collection and see if you can unlock all 60 Backrooms monsters.
