Backrooms Craft

Survival Begins With What You Can Dismantle

Backrooms Craft is a survival crafting game where the goal is to stay alive and build, with no exit to pursue. Health, hunger, thirst, and sanity require attention while creatures threaten the darkness. Bandages heal wounds, almond water calms you down, and a flashlight shines in dark places where something might be hiding.

Finding things to use for crafting is the first step. For sticks, take apart a chair. For a desk, use boards and sticks together. Progress from stone tools to steel to access materials earlier tools cannot handle; use a furnace to smelt metal and a salvage bench to recover furniture parts.

One Yellow Line Separates Persistence From Change

Each new run reshuffles the world except for the first hall. A yellow floor line marks the safe zone: anything built inside it stays in place, while construction beyond it does not. In Backrooms Craft, that boundary gives your building decisions a lasting consequence.

Exploration extends through white tiled poolrooms, server halls lit in blue, warehouses, and hotel corridors. Damp carpet, yellow wallpaper, and humming fluorescent lights establish the surrounding maze. Discoveries such as locked rooms, anomalous seams, and flickering zones are recorded in your journal, giving you a record of what you encounter.

Walking Mining and Working the Crafting Chain

Use WASD or the arrow keys to walk, Shift to run, Space to jump, C to crouch, and the mouse to look around. Hold the left mouse button to mine blocks, dismantle furniture, or strike creatures. The right mouse button places blocks, consumes food or drink, and opens workbenches or furnaces.

Select belt items with keys 1 through 9 or the mouse wheel. Press E for inventory and crafting, J for the journal, and Esc to pause. These controls connect gathering, construction, and resource management throughout an expedition.

With touch controls, begin movement wherever you touch the screen's left side and hold the stick against its edge to run. Drag across the world to look around; hold a block to mine, then slide without lifting to continue. Short taps place, use, or hit; right side pads handle jumping and crouching, with a weapon pad appearing when armed.

Tap the bag at the belt's end for inventory and crafting, or the top corner journal button to review discoveries.

Build for the Next Expedition

Backrooms Craft is good for people who like to gather resources, improve their tools, and stay alive in environments that change. Since its starting spot stays the same between runs, construction can continue there. Get a foothold in Backrooms Craft, and then cross the yellow line to find items that will help you improve your survival tools.
