To start your adventure in Backrooms: Escape Together, a survival labyrinth game that focuses on room-searching and bringing back treasures, you pick a robot. WASD for Player 1 movement, Arrow keys for Player 2 movement. Use a joystick for movement. Drag the joystick in the direction you want to go.
To examine a container, Approach it and press Search. Choose a piece of equipment from the bottom row, then use the action buttons to attack or interact. As you explore, look for an extraction route so you can return to the base with what you have gathered.
The base connects separate expeditions through preparation and material collection. Gather the resources needed for new stations, and spend time preparing before heading into the rooms again. This gives collected materials a purpose beyond the current trip.
In Backrooms: Escape Together, checking containers and getting back on track are two different aspects of the same activity. Containers provide opportunities to collect supplies, while extraction brings the expedition back to the base. Equipping useful tools adds another task to manage alongside navigation and searching.
The combination of robot exploration, equipment selection, and base preparation gives the maze a continuing collection goal. Solo play and local two player exploration provide two ways to approach that structure. Both keep the focus on entering unfamiliar rooms and finding a route home.
This structure suits an interest in survival exploration with a base to prepare between trips. Settings also offer English or Russian, with separate music and sound adjustments. Recover materials for new stations by searching the maze and returning to base in Backrooms: Escape Together.
