DON'T EAT THAT CANDY!

AT THE CANDLELIT TABLE

A mouse click or tap selects the first candy in DON'T EAT THAT CANDY! and begins a contest of hidden mines, point streaks, and uncertain reactions. The match takes place at a dinner table where four guests have returned a year after the uncle was poisoned in the same seat. Each guest may hold information about the murderer, but their expressions cannot always be trusted.

The table contains trays of white and yellow candies, with a red runner, a golden candelabra, and a teapot among the setting details. The retro pixel 3D presentation supports a murder mystery that reveals new clues after victories. The main objective is to defeat all four guests and determine who poisoned the uncle.

Bluffing Behind Every Reaction

Each guest reacts when you choose a candy from their tray. A nervous expression usually suggests that the candy is safe, while an inviting smile usually suggests a mine. These signals are not guaranteed because the guests can bluff. Their behavior becomes another source of information alongside the board itself.

Pepper candies provide a more direct clue. When selected, they show how many mines are hidden among the eight surrounding candies. This minesweeper rule helps narrow down the dangerous spaces, but the decision to eat still depends on the current score, remaining hearts, and the guest’s reaction. DON'T EAT THAT CANDY! combines these board clues with an opponent who can mislead you.

WHAT MAKES A CANDY SAFE

The round is won by finishing with more points than the guest. Losing all hearts ends the round, while a mine removes a heart and wipes the full scoring streak. Every candy eaten in succession increases the value of the next one, so a long run can build a larger score. The BANK button locks in the points earned during that turn and ends it before another candy is selected.

Winning rounds also awards stars and useful items, including a magnifier, candle, and smelling salts. These rewards accompany progress against the Baroness, Granny, the Chef, and the Butler. Each opponent has a distinct visible behavior, such as hiding behind a fan, wearing glasses, slamming the table, or looking through a lorgnette.

HIDE MINES BEFORE EATING

Begin each round by hiding four mines on your own tray for the guest to eat. Then select a candy on the guest’s tray, observe the reaction, and select it again to eat it. Use the mouse click or tap input to choose and eat a candy. Press Enter or Space to activate the highlighted button, and use Esc to pause or close a window.

A MYSTERY WITH CLEAR RULES

DON'T EAT THAT CANDY! builds short matches around mine placement, score banking, pepper clues, and unreliable guest reactions. Its story advances through victories, while its rules keep every turn focused on choosing whether another candy is worth the risk. Uncover the dinner table secret in DON'T EAT THAT CANDY!
