Exit the Backrooms: Level 94

Exit the Backrooms: Level 94 is a first-person horror survival game inspired by the Backrooms urban legend. This game places you inside a distorted, model-like city made of cardboard houses and rolling green hills. What looks harmless from afar quickly reveals itself as a hostile liminal space filled with dangerous entities. Play as an art student trapped in this broken reality. Your objective is clear: explore the environment, collect essential resources, repair a projector, and find a way back home. Survival depends on careful exploration, resource management, and understanding how each entity behaves.

Gameplay Overview

Exit the Backrooms: Level 94 combines exploration, stealth, and survival mechanics in a tense day-and-night cycle.

Day phase

During daylight, you can safely explore the cardboard city. Search houses and interiors for:

  • Batteries to power your equipment
  • Almond water to restore stamina
  • Projector parts required to complete your objective

Monitor your stamina bar and equipment charge carefully. Running out of power or breath at the wrong moment can leave you vulnerable when night falls.

Night phase

When the sun sets suddenly, the environment becomes extremely dangerous. You must:

  • Hide in closets or safe spots immediately
  • Stay still and remain silent
  • Avoid drawing attention from roaming entities

Each entity requires a different survival strategy:

  • Puppet Animations move in sudden, fast jolts. If spotted, run immediately instead of trying to sneak past them.
  • Skin Scavengers track sound. Stop moving, hide, and stay completely quiet.
  • Smilers react to light. Shine your flashlight directly at them to push them back and create an escape opportunity.

Controls

  • Mouse: Look around
  • WASD or Arrow Keys: Move
  • E or Left Mouse Button: Interact
  • Q: Use almond water
  • F: Flashlight
  • Spacebar: Jump
  • Shift: Run
  • Tab or M: Open map
  • Mouse Scroll: Zoom
  • Esc: Pause

Explore carefully, manage your resources wisely, and repair the projector before the entities close in.
