Dark Deception

Dark Deception is a first-person horror maze game that blends classic arcade collection mechanics with modern survival horror design. The game places you inside cursed labyrinths where your only goal is to collect soul shards and escape alive. You will be guided by a mysterious character named Bierce and must recover ring pieces scattered across dangerous realms. Meanwhile, you will be hunted by relentless nightmare creatures. There is no traditional combat system. Survival depends entirely on movement, awareness, and strategic power use.

Core Gameplay

Each level follows a clear objective: collect every soul shard in the maze and return safely to the portal.

To succeed, you must:

• Navigate complex maze environments filled with dead ends and hidden paths
• Collect glowing soul shards scattered throughout each stage
• Avoid unique enemies that patrol, chase, or ambush based on distinct behavior patterns
• Survive a final frenzy phase where enemies become faster and more aggressive

You cannot defeat enemies directly. The focus is on evasion, routing, and quick decision-making.

Powers and progression

As you progress, you unlock supernatural abilities that help you survive increasingly difficult levels. These may include temporary speed boosts, teleportation, or enemy detection skills. Powers are limited and must be used strategically.

Later stages introduce:
